Round two of the Cleveland Wheelers mini hill climb series and I’m getting more serious. Had a good talk to myself about putting the hurt on in the finish sprint. Nearly blew it in the mind game by looking at the forecast wind too much.
Bike of choice – GTR
Aero tweeks – Cap worn backwards and no helmet. Legs and head still hairy.
Weight saving – Water bottle off. Saddle bag removed but bottle cages left in position. Tiny rear light fitted.
Tyre pressure – Around 115psi.
Nutritional supplement – A gel at 15minutes to go.
Weight Change since last year – +3.6lbs
Weather – A headwind but not as strong as I was expecting.
Result? – New PB by 4 seconds with a headwind. Went a bit harder at the bottom, although slower, and buried myself in the sprint but Strava suggests I was up on the previous week all the way up the main body of the climb so all good. Time to try another cog down the block next week.
Still a long way to go to get my target time though…
